My mother's family was French Canadian. Grew up with it. Luckily I'm a virginian and my family settled on the eastern shore of VA. My mom and great aunt spoke French. Didn't tell my aunt we were French she'd cuss at ya it was French Canadian.
IT IS RAINING ON MY SOUL.
Is Garnet using DADGAD tuning here or just drop D? My ear is no longer cooperating....
Oh my! Fantastic!
Aryana Rose
Great great piper Johnny Doran be proud to hear such great piping
Bravo!
Very wonderful. Top notch sound and skill.
I had the opportunity to hear Bryan perform some years ago, what a treat! I've discovered the virtues of a diatonic harp (I presume) by watching and listening to him play now that I know a bit more about the instrument. I didn't know why he had all those harps on the floor by him back then. Now I have a notion of why.
Cajun and creole music is perhaps the most apt genre to describe American history: a French based musical tradition highly influenced by Spanish dance, African rhythmic structures, and Native American music/dance gatherings. If any genre were truly a melting pot then it’s this.
The geen beans arent salted..... IYKYK
Hermosa versión. Que bonita queda en una voz femenina.

I'm a watered down Creole ( Mom's side) plus I was born and raised in San Francisco...I came to Love this Music in my mid 50's.... now I just gotta hear it at least 5 days a week
Happy Norway Day! May 17
Norwegian folk melody "Devil's Tune" (Fanitullen) Fanitullen is the name of one of the most famous norwegian folktunes. It means «The Devil’s Tune», and according to legend, Fanitullen was conceived on a farm in Hol in the valley of Hallingdal in 1724 during a violent and bloody wedding. When one of the participants went to get more mead he saw the Devil himself sit on the barrel playing this tune on his fiddle.

Is the instrument played by the woman on the end in the lavender top an arpeggione?
Two absolutely great fiddle players and Molly is sooooo talented on many instruments.
So expanding! Are you all still performing? Like petals….
I fully admit I’ve never heard this genre of music before. I’m reading a book set in New Orleans, so I thought I’d give zydeco a listen. I flipping love it. 😂❤️
Saw Robin in Leesburg long ago… so grateful for the musical gifts we received that day that we still treasure in our memories.

Ah the memories of my days chasing Bluegrass Festivals all over the DC metropolitan areas. Made some great musician friends including John Harford, Doug Dillard, and a crazy autoharp player named Bryan Bowers. I remember sitting in the bed of Bryan's Old Yellow Pickup truck with the Dillards and inhaling some rather intoxicating fumes that were present. Later Bryan performed his famous autoharp lesson while "slightly" HIGH. Here he is remembering those days years later.
Greatness!
Got to hear this done once live,, by the Boston Pops Orchestra ...Ahhhh... the Magic of Music...Well done here as well!
Badass 👌👊
Hi Cillian, this tunes takes me back to a fantastic session at Finn mac cool in Rome, back in 1998
When Zydeco was made, the lord sent a angel down with a squeeze box and a rub board and said” Make the people happy! Make the people dance!”
You got that right, brother. I just wish I’d found it years ago when I had the legs to dance. But we all can still dance in spirit!
What an absolute legend, this version is utterly mindblowing and gorgeous beyond words
